Looks like they made it.... with so many odds against them at the age of 17 they embarked on an adventure....a wild, scary, unpredictable, fun, loving adventure, hand in hand always true to the vows they made, through good and bad, sickness and health.... we are so glad you have made it this far keep going, keep loving, keep trusting the Lord with the future .

WE ARE FAMILY!!!

We celebrated Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 2. We wanted an intimate family gathering and what better place was there than at their home, the place we all love to go. So among the beautiful gardens surrounding it, we had a garden party. We started the party @4:00 on the patio, the weather was beautiful and every one arrived so happy to see each other. This was the first time we were all together since we said goodbye to TJ so the emotions were pretty high. This is all new to us trying to move on and celebrate with one of us missing but we know that TJ would want us to press on and not back down, but to stand our ground. So that we did by the grace of God.

A GOLDEN MEMORY OF A BEAUTIFUL DAY

One word describes our celebration and tribute to Mom and Dad to me, and that word is "GOLDEN."As I write this and think about them driving down the lane in the decorated Club car and the granchildren and children lined up on both sides waving flags, throwing rose petals or blowing bubbles while the song "GOING TO THE CHAPEL OF LOVE " played in the air my heart swells. And then I replay in my mind Dad reciting the awesome poem he wrote last year as a tribute to their life together, he was so filled with emotion, my heart swells even more and now I can hardly type because I can't see through the tears. We all; children, spouses, and grandchildren had opportunity to tell Mom and Dad just how thankful we are for them and their and love for each other, for us and for their commitment to a LOVE FOR A LIFETIME. The years of us growing up in our various houses were reminisced and the fun times we have shared through the past. Thanks again Mom and Dad for giving us roots and wings and for being a rock and a foundation for us to stand on, launch off of and return to time and again.

THANKS FOR GIVING US ROOTS AND WINGS!

This was a special time for us as a family, and it will be forever GOLDEN in my heart.

JUST MARRIED 18,250 DAYS AGO........ WOW!

Look at this picture, are'nt they so cute?! No matter what age you are it is always a blessing to a child to see their parents loving each other. Can you believe, 18,250 days of marriage? Allie made this sign I love the creativity and alot of the kids gathered at Tim and Tina's and decorated the cart on Friday and we surprised Mom and Dad with it on Saturday as Tim, Tina, and Hannah drove up to the party in it

After our time of tribute we had a catered dinner on the upper deck that was fabulous. The special wedding couple cut the cake in true wedding tradition. Mom and Dad did not have a formal wedding when they got married 50 years ago so it's especially fun to make over them with this kind of thing now.

We gave them a digital photo frame with about 2000 pictures from over the years. It's alot of fun to watch and a sobering reminder of how fast time flys. Catch it when you can and take a picture!
